Ken's Wife of 25 years, Deanna Eixman, is an established artist who loves working in both acrylics and in oils. Her ability to use light and color while capturing the personality and character of the subject will leave you entranced and wanting to know more about my subjects.

She studied Graphic Design at Baylor University while attending as a scholarship athlete. Graphic Design instilled a strong sense of detail in her however it left her creatively feeling empty. Now she finds joy in the details of animals while landscapes give way for freedom and void of strict detail. She finds joy in God’s creation, such as the beauty of a furry critter, the detail in flower petals or the beauty in the color of the sky. Being surrounded by nature is her happy place and it brings her such peace. Joy is translated through each stroke of her brush whether capturing the essence of an animal with her contemporary realism or the uncommonly fine touch of  the palette knife in my colorful landscapes.

Experiencing painting as a form of meditating, of internally seeking my soul to connect with the beauty of God's Creation, she firmly believe that creating has power! It can bring joy where there is sorrow, peace where there is unrest and clarity where there is confusion. Why? Because creating is just one characteristic of the Lord! Through the arts, doors can be opened and the soul, mind, and body can be healed. Painting is one of her favorite ways to connect with people and the healing heart of God.

As South Texas native, she has had the joy of living over 10 years in the foothills of Colorado which has influenced the colors found in her landscapes. She now call the beautiful Texas Hill Country my home where she has resided with her husband, Ken, the last 10 years. She is a wife, a mother of four with a menagerie of furry and feathered babies. She has the pleasure  of being a full time artist where she can often be found in her studio teaching private and small group lessons as well as using art as a way to creatively heal the heart and soul in her Creating with the Creator sessions.
